We’re less than 72 hours away from the weekend and as is always the case in South Florida, numerous events are happening this weekend in Miami Beach and beyond. Let’s take a look at some of the weekend highlights.

The Bass Museum of Art’s annual gala begins on Saturday with the elegant black-tie Bass Ball being held in Collins Park. Many of the most notable names in Miami’s civic and cultural upper echelon will be making an appearance in support of the museum’s various educational programs and exhibitions and the event will be followed by the Keep the Ball Rolling afterparty.

The GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance begins today and continues through Sunday. The festival is designed to support nonprofits and various art and education causes. Over 40 different bands will be performing on four different stages at Virginia Key Beach Park. Attendees also have the option of setting up camp right on the grounds. Ticket prices vary depending on the date and time.

The Model Beach Volleyball Tournament takes place over two days at Lummus Park in South Beach and will see models from agencies like Ford and Wilhelmina competing against seasoned beach volleyball players. The event is free to the public.
